Editor & Drafts

• CHANGE: When you click on a link in the editor, a small box appears with the link's address. Clicking into that box now selects the whole address, so pasting a new one replaces it. Click again to place the cursor in the address. https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/41479
• CHANGE: In the Insert/Edit Link window, the Title box is now called "Tooltip text (optional)". The text you enter there is shown when someone points at the link, for example "(Login to Groups.io required)". https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/41479
• BUGFIX: When you pasted pictures into a message on the website, such as photos copied from another program, the message could be sent with grey "Uploading..." boxes in place of the pictures, and members receiving it by email got an attachment they couldn't open. Pasted pictures are now included in the message.
• BUGFIX: When you clicked a button in the editor's toolbar that opens a window, such as Insert/Edit Link, the cursor was put back in the message instead of in the window. You had to click into the URL box before you could paste a link. The cursor now starts in the window's first box, so you can paste a link and press Enter. https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/41479

Editor & Drafts

• CHANGE: When you replied to the sender of a message on the website, you could delete Private: from the subject, and the reply would arrive looking like a group message. Replies sent only to the sender now always start with Private:, and it's put back if you delete it. https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/41425
• BUGFIX: When you replied to the sender of a message, the group's subject tag was always added to the subject, even if it was already there, so it could appear twice. It was also added in the wrong place if Private: or Re: weren't typed exactly that way. The tag, Private: and Re: now each appear only once, in that order. https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/41425
• API BUGFIX: The same fixes apply to replies sent to the sender with /postdraft.
• BUGFIX: Dragging a HEIC photo into the message editor showed "Dropped file type is not supported". HEIC and HEIF photos dropped into the editor are now converted to JPEG and inserted where you drop them. • BUGFIX: When a moderator replied to the sender or to the moderators, the Send As Special Notice option could still be checked, although it only applies to messages sent to the group. • BUGFIX: On a message page, if you discarded a reply and then clicked Reply again, the reply window came back with the discarded text and kept trying to save it to the deleted draft. That showed a "There was an error saving the draft" alert with a retry countdown and another asking you to reload the page, and clicking Send didn't send the reply. • BUGFIX: The Drafts count in the sidebar didn't change when you started writing a reply on a message page or discarded one, until you went to another page. It now updates as soon as the reply is first saved or is discarded. https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/41323
• BUGFIX: If a draft you were writing was deleted in another window, the editor kept trying to save it and showed an error alert with a retry countdown again and again. • BUGFIX: Members of announcement-only groups, and members not allowed to post, saw Drafts in the sidebar, but clicking it took them to the group's home page. They can now open their Drafts.

Editor & Drafts

• BUGFIX: If a draft save reached our servers but the confirmation didn't make it back to your browser, the editor kept re-sending that old save. Each attempt was refused so it wouldn't overwrite the newer copy, and you saw a "There was an error saving the draft" warning counting down to 240 seconds. While that went on, nothing new you typed was saved. We now recognize a repeat of a save that already went through, and the editor keeps saving normally. https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/41365
• BUGFIX: If a draft save got stuck on a dropped connection, the editor waited for it forever. It stopped saving your draft without any warning, so posting from Drafts could send an older version. A stuck save now gives up after 30 seconds, shows the retry warning, and tries again. https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/41364
• CHANGE: Clicking Send on a new topic, a reply, or a private message to a member now shows "Sending…" and disables the button until the page moves on. Before, a reply's Send button silently ignored further clicks if the first send stalled, and on new topics each click sent again. If sending takes more than 30 seconds, a message asks you to check your connection, and if the page doesn't change, to see whether your message was posted before sending it from Drafts. https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/41364
• BUGFIX: If your login expired while you were writing a message, your later typing could be lost, and the editor kept trying to save without telling you. The editor now keeps what you've written and tells you that your login has expired, with a link to log in again in a new tab so you can come back and send it. Likes and poll votes made after your login has expired now show an error instead of appearing to work.
• BUGFIX: Posting more than 25 new topics in 10 minutes now shows a message asking you to wait a few minutes, instead of the New Topic form appearing to do nothing.
• BUGFIX: In groups without a subject tag, direct messages between members didn't have [DM] at the start of the subject. They now do.
